Inclusion and Belonging report
April 2025 - April 2026

"At Abri, inclusion and belonging are fundamental to who we are and shape how we work every day. Why? because we know the positive impact it has on our colleague and customer experiences and on the quality of the services we provide.
Over the past year, we’ve continued to build on this priority by embedding more inclusive practices and creating environments where colleagues feel respected, supported and able to contribute fully. From more inclusive recruitment approaches to fostering safe, open spaces, we’re focused on ensuring everyone feels seen, heard and valued.
As both an employer and a housing provider, we have a responsibility to get this right. The decisions we make directly affect people’s lives, so it’s essential that we understand the diverse communities we serve. In a changing and often challenging wider political environment, our commitment to this work remains clear - if anything, it strengthens our ambitions to keep listening, learning and taking action.
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, and it's important to take a moment to look back at everything we've achieved, particularly with the end of our previous five-year strategy and the launch of our new one, but we also know there’s more to do.
Along with our EDI Group, and ongoing engagement with colleagues, customers and partners, we are committed to continuing to improve.
Thank you to those that have contributed to this year's achievements, especially those who have shared their lived experiences and helped shape our future approach. Your voices continue to help us build a culture where everyone belongs."

“Over the past year, we’ve built real momentum, with meaningful progress shaped by colleagues, customers and partners working together. There’s much to be proud of, but we know this work is ongoing.
Our focus this year has been guided by three priorities: better understanding and connecting with diverse communities; being a landlord and employer of choice for disabled people; and deepening our understanding of the link between protected characteristics and homelessness. This report is structured around these priorities, which together set a clear direction for continuing to learn and improve.
I look forward to building on this progress over the coming year, continuing to listen, learn and work together to drive meaningful, lasting change.”
